For 120 years, Michelin has been actively following gastronomic developments around the world in its guide, focusing on news, changes and trends. Michelin's methodology, based on five principles, is used to rate the restaurants they visit:
The label is named after Bibendum, or the friendly Michelin man. It is not exactly a star, but it is far from a consolation prize. Based on observations made by reviewers during visits to "fine dining" restaurants around the world Michelin recognised as early as 1955 that there were plenty of other restaurants around that offered quality food at pocket-friendly prices and that they deserved a special category.
Thus was born Bib Gourmand, the Michelin man licking his lips. First featured in the Michelin Guide in 1997, since 2020 he has been pointing gourmets in Slovenia to restaurants where you can enjoy an authentic dining experience with quality dishes at affordable prices, in an accessible location and in a friendly atmosphere.
Over the past year, Restaurant Triangel has also been anonymously visited several times and awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand label for 2024.
